Drive over the Cross Pass to the village of Kazbek and then continue to the Gergeti Church. From this church, there is an extraordinary view of the spectacular Kazbek Mountain and the surrounding mountain landscapes. Then, continue the hike to the Meteorological Station. We follow the path over a meadow in view of the glacier (pack horses up to the glacier) and can already see the Meteorological Station from a distance (a concrete building, constructed in 1933; 3680 m). The distance from the village of Kazbek to the Meteorological Station is 14 km, which we cover in about 8 hours. Overnight stay at the station. 1530 m, approx. 6.5 hrs. (B/L/D)

Summit day! The ascent begins at 2:00 AM. From the Meteorological Station to the summit, it is 12 km and the hike takes 9 hours. A narrow path leads us westward from the station to the measuring station. We continue northwest and climb the glacier from the southwest side. In this direction, we reach the middle of the glacier, from where you can see the second peak of the summit. Then begins the long, gradual ascent on the snow- and ice-covered slope to the middle of the summit. There are places with crevasses where you must be roped. The last 100 meters are challenging, requiring climbing. The descent from the summit takes 4-5 hours. 1400 m, approx. 13-14 hrs. (B/L/D)

Reserve day for a second summit attempt in case of bad weather. If the weather cooperates, we can leisurely descend to Kazbek. Walking time is about 3-4 hours. (B/L/D)

Descent to Kazbek. Our goal is reached. Congratulations! Afterwards, drive to Tbilisi. Dinner at a traditional Georgian restaurant. We deserve it. Overnight stay in a hotel in Tbilisi. (B/L/D)

Tour of Tbilisi's old and new town. The city offers many old but also very modern sights. All the interesting monuments in the old town are close together, making them easily accessible by a short walk. First, we enjoy a tour of the old town with the Metekhi Church (13th century) and the equestrian statue of the city’s founder, Vakhtang Gorgasali. From here, there is an impressive view of the Mtkwari (Kura), the old town, and the surroundings of Tbilisi. Past the sulfur baths, to the Narikala Fortress (4th century), the synagogue, and the Sioni Cathedral, where the grapevine cross of St. Nino—who Christianized Georgia—is kept. Continuing to the Anchiskhati Church (6th century), the oldest church in the city. Dinner and overnight stay in Tbilisi. (B/L/D)
